Internet Explorer Running Very Slowly

Problem Description:
When you browse a webpage by using Windows Internet Explorer, you may experience slow performance. This may happen all the time or only while accessing audio-video content or downloading certain type of files or only during certain period of the day.
Affected Products:
Internet Explorer for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Internet Explorer for Mac Operating System. Applies to Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and beyond.
Cause of the Problem:
  • Add-on Installed recently causing conflicts.
  • Temporary files such as Browser History, Cookies and Cache.
  • Explorer settings not properly configured.
  • Virus or malware infection.
Instructions for Fixing IE Crashing or Freezing Problem :
Step 1 : Disable Internet Explorer Add-Ons
  1. While browser add-ons can enhance your online experience, they can occasionally interfere or conflict with other software on your computer.
  2. Tap or click the Tools button and then tap or click Manage add-ons. Under Show, tap or click All Add-ons and then disable all of them by tapping or clicking each one and then selecting Disable.
  3. Restart Internet Explorer and test.
  4. If you can successfully access the internet then the issue is with an installed add-on. Re-enable each add-on one at a time and test to verify what add-on is causing the issue.
  5. If you cannot connect then go to Step 2.
Step 2 : Delete your browsing history and all temporary browser files
  1. Open Internet Explorer Tool Menu and under it select Internet Options.
  2. Under Browsing history, click Delete.
  3. Select Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History.
  4. Do not select Form data, or Favorite Website Data, or Passwords.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. See if Browser is now running faster. If it is not, go to Step 3.
Step 3 : Reconfigure Internet Explorer Settings
  1. Internet Explorer, after an excessive amount of usage over time, can be quite slow because of all the configurations and the settings that the user may have applied.
  2. In Internet Explorer menu, click Tools and then Internet Options.
  3. Select the Advanced tab and click Reset. Again, click Reset in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings.
  4. Click Ok to exit and restart Internet Explorer for the change to take effect.
  5. If after Resetting the Internet Explorer, the problem is not fixed you need help from an expert.
