Unable to Print from Internet Explorer

Problem Description:
Internet Explorer may give a script error when you attempt to print a file. Or the print preview function of Internet Explorer may not render the page properly. Or the page may simply not print.
Affected Products:
Internet Explorer for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Internet Explorer for Mac Operating System. Applies to Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and beyond.
Cause of the Problem:
  • Out of date printer device drivers.
  • Lack permission to print to the device.
  • Protected mode is enabled for Internet Explorer.
  • Problem with the Temporary Folder used by IE.
Instructions for Printing Problem in Internet Explorer :
Step 1 : Install latest driver for printer
  1. Use Windows Update to check for finding and installing the latest printer device driver.
  2. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Update and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
  3. In the left pane, click Check for updates and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
  4. If Windows Updates reports no new updates available, it means most likely you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer.
  5. If you see a link that says optional updates are available. Click it. Select the driver you want to install, click OK and then click Install updates.
Step 2 : Try Printing as an Administrator
  1. First verify that you are logged on as an administrator, by changing the time of the computer. If you get a prompt asking for the password of an administrator you are not logged in as an administrator.
  2. If you are already logged in as an administrator, then the problem has nothing to do with your administrator privileges. Go to Step 3.
  3. If you are not logged in as an administrator, log out and then assuming you know the administrator name and password log in.
  4. Try print a web page. If you can then the problem has to do with your user profile credentials. If you cannot print, then go to Step 3.
Step 3 : Disable Protected Mode for IE
  1. Click the Tools icon in Internet Explorer; Click the Security tab and uncheck the checkbox beside Enable Protected Mode.
  2. Click Apply and then click OK. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then restart Internet Explorer.
  3. Try printing a page while running as the Administrator. If not successful, you need help from a certified technician.
If above steps did not help fix your problem, you need assistance from a certified technician. Please call GuruAid at 1  855  423  6796.
