Cause of the Problem:
  • McAfee Removal Tool that you are using is not the latest version and need the latest one.
  • Windows registry entries created by McAfee maybe blocking the complete uninstallation.
Fix for McAfee Un-installation Problems:
Step 1 : Retry uninstalling McAfee using Windows Program Manager applet.
  1. You may have tried this step before, but it may not be a bad idea to retry.
  2. Shutdown your computer, and restart it, exit from all programs that are in your Start Menu.
  3. Activate the “Add or Remove Program” control panel applet in Windows.
  4. Select McAfee software from the list shown & proceed to uninstall it.

  1. Download the MCPR tool from: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe.
  2. Navigate to the folder where you saved the file, and double-click MCPR.exe. When you see the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes.
  3. At the McAfee Software Removal screen, click Next. At the End User License Agreement (EULA) dialog box, click Next to accept the agreement.
  4. When prompted, type the Captcha information, which is case sensitive, to validate to application security, and then click Next.
  5. When you see the message CleanUp Successful, restart your computer. Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until after the restart.
Step 3 : Clean up Windows registry entries that may be preventing the complete removal of McAfee.
