Internet Explorer Takes Too Long to Open or Shutdown
- Installed Add-On is Corrupted.
- Installed Add-On Incompatible with Version of Internet Explorer.
- Internet Explorer Not Configured Properly.
- Windows or Internet Explorer Infected with Virus.
- Tap or click the Tools button and then tap or click Manage add-ons.
- Under Show, tap or click All Add-ons and then disable all of them by tapping or clicking each one and then selecting Disable.
- Restart Internet Explorer and test.
- If you can successfully access the internet then the issue is with an installed add-on. Re-enable each add-on one at a time and test to verify what add-on is causing the issue.
- If you cannot connect then go to Step 2.
- Internet Explorer, after an excessive amount of usage over time, can be quite slow because of all the configurations and the settings that the user may or may not have applied.
- In Internet Explorer menu, click Tools and then Internet Options.
- Select the Advanced tab and click Reset. Again, click Reset in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings.
- Click Ok to exit and restart Internet Explorer for the change to take effect.
- If after Resetting the Internet Explorer, the problem is not fixed you need help from an expert.
- Open Internet Explorer Tool Menu and under it select Internet Options.
- Under Browsing history, click Delete.
- Select Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History.
- Do not select Form data, or Favorite Website Data, or Passwords.
- Click Delete.
- See if Browser is now running faster. If it is not, you need help from a qualified technician.
